Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh has shared a health update after being pulled off-air on Tuesday, March 29. The presenter was replaced with Louisa James halfway through the show after the newsreader suffered severe hay fever symptoms.
At the time, hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid explained: "It's five past seven, here's the rest of today's news. Now, it's no longer Ranvir. Louisa, you've stepped in. How's Ranvir doing?"
Louisa replied: "Ranvir is fine. Well, I think she's going to be fine. We think she's had a bit of an allergic reaction maybe, she's got a bit of a sore eye. She's just resting."
Richard Madeley said: "I think it's the worst case of hayfever I've ever seen". Susanna added: "It is particularly bad for sufferers at the moment. So yeah, Ranvir's just off for a moment. Welcome Louisa."
Before the start of the show, Ranvir told her followers how bad her symptoms were. She tweeted: "Anyone else got the worst most painful stinging hay-fever they've ever had? I can barely keep my eyes open. If there was a vaccine for this I’d sign up asap."
But now Ranvir has issued an update, explaining that it was an allergic reaction to "something more than tree pollen" as shed thanked fans for their support. She wrote on Twitter: "Thanks for all the guidance on my streaming sore eyes this week! It was an allergic reaction to something more than tree pollen as the skin around my eyes has gone paper thin and sore."
Ranvir also confirmed her return to TV, explaining that she would be taking over Lorraine during the Easter Holidays. She wrote: "Anyway I’ll be hosting @lorraine tomorrow and for all of next week."
