Good Morning Britain's weather forecaster Laura Tobin has given an update as Storm Eunice hits the UK.
She told viewers of the show that the anticipated extreme weather is set to be the 'most powerful storm to hit the UK in at least 30 years'.
The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for most parts of the country, including Merseyside, while other areas such as South West England have been given a rare red warning.

The warning system has been in place since 2008 and it is the first time that London has ever been issued one.
Laura warned of how dangerous high winds are as she said: "This is actually the most powerful storm we've seen in the UK in at least the last 30 years."
She added: "These wind gusts that are now 40-50mph are going to get to 80-90mph in the South West, then by 10 to 11 this morning the firing line is central and southern areas of England.
"Then look how they pick up to 60-70mph this afternoon through south eastern areas of England."
Laura told viewers how all of the UK will be effected as she said: "The storm isn't just in the south; it covers all areas of the UK.
"Snow and blizzards in the north. Widespread strong winds until 9 o'clock this evening, up to 80-90mph.
"The strength of the wind and rain today means that we have severe flood warnings in force.
"The risk of flooding and the strength of wind continuing to increase as we head through the next few hours, before it decays later this evening."
