GMB's Ed Balls refuses to watch 'tragic' Harry and Meghan Netflix series

Ed Balls has revealed that he hasn't watched the newly-released Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, because he doesn't "have a side" and feels much "sadness" over it.

The presenter, 55, made the admission on Good Morning Britain. It came in a discussion about the six-part series which centres on Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan Markle, 41.

The final three episodes of the docuseries were released yesterday (December 17). They included mention of Prince William, 40, who wasn't referenced in a favourable way.

The show was discussed this morning by Ed and his co-host Ranvir Singh, 45. The latter commented: "Everybody seems to be watching it, whether you agree or [not]."

Ed however stated that he hasn't watched the six-part docuseries, which launched last week. He explained the reason for such to his co-host earlier this morning.

The former politician said: "I've not watched it because I just find it... I don't have a side." He further commented: "I just feel an overwhelming terrible sadness about this".

He then added: "It's just absolutely tragic. It's awful". His co-host Ranvir supported the sentiment, with her saying: "Yeah, I think that's true. It's a family breakdown isn't it?"

Such remarks came amid a debate about the docuseries on Good Morning Britain earlier. Ed had suggested on the ITV show that he finds one particular aspect to be a "tragedy".

He suggested that it's tragic to see the tension between Prince Harry and his older brother Prince William. They are the children of King Charles III, 74, and the late Princess Diana.

Ed said: "Isn't this just like a tragedy to see two brothers, who have had such a terrible time growing up, now fighting it out in public?" He made the remark during the debate.

The docuseries series features interviews with Prince Harry and Meghan, among other participants. A synopsis states: "From their courtship to their exit from royal life, [they] share their complex journey in their own words".

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays on ITV from 6am.

All episodes of Harry & Meghan are available on Netflix.
