GMB presenter who was racially assaulted says ‘more robust penalties’ needed after attacker avoids prison

TV presenter Noel Phillips has called for “tougher sentences” after a teenager who robbed, assaulted and racially abused him avoided going to prison.

Mr Phillips, who works as ITV ’s US Correspondent for Good Morning Britain, says he was repeatedly called the N-word by a 17-year-old who snatched his necklace and spat in his face during the attack in September 2022.
