GMB in awkward clash as guest slams 'rude' millennial accused of 'lacking life skills'

The Good Morning Britain descended into a heated debate on Tuesday morning as the ITV morning programme discussed whether millennials lack life skills.

ITV hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins presided over the debate, which invited comedian and millennial Freddy Quinne into the studio alongside journalist Nina Myskow.

However, as Freddy was forced to call into the programme from his home, he was forced to admit he had discovered his car had a flat tyre in the morning and was unable to change it in time.

This prompted ridicule from Nina who said his own predicament had proven her point as she demanded he should have fixed his tyre, saying: “Of course I can fix a tyre. I know how to do it. You need a plan B.

“He’s proved two points: he doesn’t have the life skill and he doesn’t have the gumption, the motivation – he knew he had to be here today.”

Freddy pushed back against the harsh words, joking: “Nina, not only do I not think you would be able to change a tyre in the dark, I don’t think you’d be able to turn the torch on on your phone to see.”

Outraged, Nina said: “That is so rude. Of course I can turn the torch on on my phone, but I happen to have another torch in the car.”

Adil was heard jeering in the background of the interview in the studio, as Nina continued: “You need to know these things. Your plan B is sitting in some hotel. You should be sitting here. Don’t you feel ashamed of yourself?

“You didn't have the gumption or the energy or the motivation not to let people down? You should take responsibility for your actions.”

Freddy provided a withering response to the assumption that he lived in the capital, where the ITV studio is located, saying: “This is going to shock you, but not everyone lives in London. I live four hours away. At 3 o’clock in the morning, what would you have suggested that I had done?”

Nina failed to provide a direct response to this, instead turning to the example of Roman Kemp admitting on Twitter that he had “no idea” what each section of a washing machine drawer was intended for.

Later in the discussion, Freddy continued to Nina: “I’m sure you know how to change a tyre because you probably checked before you came on air, which is very smart of you.

“However, what I would like to say is that I think that millennials have a different knowledge set. It’s not that we lack knowledge, we just have knowledge about different things.”

Nina rebuffed saying: “It’s not your knowledge, it’s somebody else’s knowledge. If you lost your phone, can you cope?”

Meanwhile, to prove his point, Freddy began to demand Nina explain how to set up a mobile phone hotspot, which she refused to answer, saying: “That’s not necessary for me as my life is now.”
