GMB fans claim Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh had ‘spat before hard to watch’ show

Good Morning Britain fans speculated Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh had a disagreement off-screen before “interrupting” each other throughout Thursday’s show.

Shephard, 47, and Singh, 44, were covering a GMB slot that is usually presented by Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley. However, their behaviour sparked a mixed response from viewers.

The ITV stars were interviewing several experts during the breakfast series about the ongoing Ukraine crisis as well as soaring fuel costs.

But the presenters appeared to speak over each other at several points as they tried to ask questions during the interviews, much to the frustration of viewers at home.

Some fans said the interruptions made for awkward viewing and suggested the television stars may have even had an off-screen “spat” - though TV insiders suggest this is “utter fantasy”.

“What’s the matter with Ben Shepherd this morning ?? He’s cut-across & interrupted Ranvir half a dozen times !? (..and he does it in the most obvious & rude manner....as if he’s in bad mood ???)” One person wrote among the comments on social media.

Others wrote: “Deffo think someone’s p****d on Bens’ cornflake this morning they normally get on unless a spat earlier?”

“Ranvir why do you insist on interrupting people when they are speaking? Maybe use your ears more than your mouth hey?”

“You can cut the ice between Ben and Ranvir today makes for a hard watch.”

The Standard has approached a representative for Good Morning Britain for further comment.

TV insiders close to the show have downplayed any rumours of feuding between the presenters.

Speaking to the Mail Online, an insider said the Good Morning Presenters get on well.

“This is utter fantasy, Ben and Ranvir get on really well,” the source told the publication.  “Talking over each other occasionally reflects real life relationships and is part of the authentic cut and thrust of a passionately topical programme like Good Morning Britain.”

Although several viewers took issue with Singh and Shephard’s interviewing techniques, others actually praised the duo and claimed they were a good replacement to the regular presenters.

One supporter said: “Good grown up show today much better than susanna and Richard childish and awfull interviewing great work ben ranvir and our favourite laura.”
