After adding talent to their roster during the free agency period, it sure sounds like the Cleveland Browns will be picking up the fifth-year option of left tackle Jedrick Wills as well. While general manager Andrew Berry did not explicitly state this would be a fact, he gave a strong hint trending in that direction at his press conference today. When asked about the status of his starting left tackle and his option, Berry had this to say:
“You guys will certainly know before May 2. We’re pleased with Jed.”
May 2 is the deadline by which teams have to decide whether or not to pick up the fifth-year of first round picks. The Browns under Berry, however, have historically had that decision made before the NFL draft. Look for news on Wills’ option to come out in the coming days.
