GLP-1 use in US kids under-12 soars - even without FDA approval

FDA United States Obesity Disease Cancer Heart Disease NYU Grossman School of Medicine

American kids under-12 are now taking GLP-1 drugs to fight obesity at 300 times the rate of seven years ago, according to major new study released today.

More than 20,000 children, aged 8-11, have taken the drugs since 2019 - a 9 percent rise, according to analysis of 300 million electronic medical records.
