The finalists of the GloucestershireLive Apprenticeship Awards 2022 have been announced. The event is set to return to Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester this year, with a ceremony taking place on Thursday, September 22.
The awards, which are run by GloucestershireLive and BusinessLive, recognise apprenticeship excellence across a wide range of sectors. Every year, the ceremony celebrates apprentices from around the region who are excelling in their training, as well as the employers helping them to succeed.
The awards also recognise the work of training providers in Gloucestershire and their significant contributions to the success of apprentices and their journeys.
After a period of judging, shortlists have now been drawn up for the majority of prizes that will be given away at this year’s ceremony.
The overall GloucestershireLive Apprentice of the Year award is selected from all the winners on the night of the event, while a prize for Outstanding Contribution to Apprenticeships in Gloucestershire will also be presented at the ceremony.
Attendees of the event will get the opportunity to network with local training providers, employers and to celebrate the future of the workforce in Gloucestershire.
GloucestershireLive Business Editor Hannah Baker, who took part in the judging, said: “There were some fantastic entries for 2022, which made judging even more difficult! We would like to congratulate all the finalists on making the shortlist, and thank everyone who took the time to enter this year.”
Sarah Stephens-Lewis, head of faculty for apprenticeship provision at SGS College, which is sponsoring the Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Construction) category, said: “Apprenticeships help to develop skills, knowledge and behaviours for the individual as well as the workforce. They provide people with fantastic opportunities, encourage innovation and upskill organisations to meet the demands of tomorrow.”
Tickets for the GloucestershireLive Apprenticeship Awards are £55 (plus VAT) per person - or a special rate of £495 (plus VAT) can be offered for a table of 10. This includes a welcome drink and three-course dinner.
