A fintech firm has expanded into new offices in Gloucestershire after a period of “significant” growth.
Virgate provides digital accountancy services to more than 50 SMEs across the hospitality, leisure and retail sectors.
Founded by local entrepreneur Sarah Travell in 2017,the business said it was on track to post turnover in excess of £1.3m this year - more than double what it was two years ago.
The company has moved to the first floor of Olympus House off Bristol Road in Quedgeley, just over the road from its previous headquarters.
The more than 3,000 sq ft space will house Virgate’s growing workforce of 35, with the company saying it had taken on 14 new recruits this year, of which half were in newly created roles.
Ms Travell said it was important for the business to be “rooted” in the area and contribute to the local economy.
The chief executive added: “Our success over the last five years, despite the challenges of the pandemic, is testimony to the expertise and hard work of every single member of the team here.
“Next year we are planning further expansion and will be generating more local jobs to drive that, something that was key to the decision to move to larger premises that were nevertheless still close to home.”
