Gloucester Road set for weeks of roadworks with 'delays likely'

Roadworks will see parts of Gloucester Road shut to traffic from this week.

Essential works are being carried out from Cheltenham Road to Gloucester Road North until February 19.

Stretches of the key route into Bristol are closed for two and three day periods, as motorists are told to expect delays.

The street will be shut between 38-56 Gloucester Road from February 9 to February 11 to allow for Wessex Water to carry out sewer works.

There will be temporary traffic lights in place along this stretch of road.

Wessex Water will carry out works at the Wolseley Road junction from February 16 to February 18, where there will also be temporary traffic lights.

Further north, Vodafone will shut the road near Filton to carry out works from February 14 to February 19.

There will also be a lane shut on Cheltenham Road from February 14 to February 18 with delays likely.

Nearby "various roads" in St Andrews remain shut to allow Bristol Water to carry out water mains renovation works.

These works have been ongoing since January 5 and will be complete in May.
