Star Perth Glory recruit Salim Khelifi is set for an extended stint on the sidelines after suffering a serious foot injury, while Adam Taggart is no certainty to face Wellington on Saturday.
Khelifi has been outstanding for Perth this season, but he limped off in the 65th minute of Saturday night's 3-1 A-League Men win over Melbourne Victory.
Glory are still determining the full extent of the injury, but the early signs don't look good for the Tunisian international.
It's the second time this season a Perth player has been struck down by a serious foot injury, with Aaron McEneff's setback to sideline him for at least two months.
"At this stage it's looking like a serious injury," coach Ruben Zadkovich said of Khelifi's injury.
"For me he's been our standout player.
"With Jack Clisby being suspended and Adam Taggart's quad - it's one of those weeks where we're certainly disappointed to be losing a few quality players."
Clisby copped a two-match suspension for his ugly clash with Chris Ikonomidis last week, while Taggart's match-winning two-goal cameo off the bench has been soured by a flare up of a quad injury.
"He had a slight strain which we were trying to manage before that game. It's flared up a little bit," Zadkovich said.
"It's not too much, it's just something we need to manage.
"This morning's session he didn't play a part in, but tomorrow we train and we'll look to try to push him tomorrow and see how he goes.
"But we'll take the long-term view. If it's no good, then he won't travel."
New signing Jordan Elsey is a chance to make his Glory debut after making the switch from Newcastle.
Perth have surged to seventh on the ALM ladder after posting three wins and a draw from their past four matches.
