- Legendary South African singer Albert Mazibuko, a long-standing member of Grammy-winning choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, has died aged 77 following a short illness.
- Mazibuko performed with the group for 55 years, joining in 1969, and was considered the "right hand man" to founder Joseph Shabalala, who passed away in 2020.
- Ladysmith Black Mambazo gained international recognition after collaborating with Paul Simon on his 1986 album Graceland, which opened the group to a global audience.
- The group, known for fusing a capella with traditional Zulu songs, won five Grammy Awards, with their most recent in 2018, and featured on The Lion King II: Simba's Pride soundtrack.
- Described by his fellow group members as "a saint" who was "kind to a fault," Mazibuko was dedicated to spreading the group's message of "Peace, Love and Harmony" worldwide.
