European shares edged higher on Thursday as falling oil prices offered some relief to investors, while stalled U.S.-Iran peace efforts and continued disruption in the Strait of Hormuz kept sentiment subdued, Reuters reported.
The pan-European STOXX 600 rose 0.2% to 660.49 points by 0714 GMT, after retreating from record highs in the previous session. However, gains remained limited as markets assessed the economic impact of the ongoing Middle East conflict.
