ESPN’s College GameDay entered the Danger Zone in Week 2 as it welcomed Glen Powell, the breakout star of Top Gun: Maverick, as the celebrity guest picker. Powell, who played bad boy Hangman in the summer’s biggest hit ($1.4 billion and counting!), is an Austin native and huge Texas fan. A natural fit for GameDay where the Longhorns host the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.
As a college football fan, Powell acquitted himself admirably on the panel, providing quick, concise and well-thought out reasoning. It was when they got to the big pick of the day that he really got to shine, however.
“Quinn Ewers has the strongest mullet in college football,” Powell said as he donned a mullet wig. But he wasn’t done. Powell took it a step further, pulling out a bottle of Dijon mustard.
“I’ll make a pledge right now,” he stated. “Every time he [Bijan Robinson] scores a touchdown today, I will take a shot of Bijan Dijon.”

It’s going to be a stretch for the Longhorns to overcome the No. 1 Tide, but if they do, they’ll probably have Hangman to thank.
