Gleeson Homes moves to Hessle as it eyes 500 homebuilds a year in Humber region

Housebuilder Gleeson Homes has completed its own move in the Humber region, taking a larger office in Hessle.

The Sheffield-headquartered business, listed on the London Stock Exchange, has taken space at Iridium Court, with a 5,652 sq ft letting to accommodate a growing workforce. It is described as ensuring the “team is well-equipped to continue its exciting growth trajectory as it continues to target significant growth across East Yorkshire”.

The company prides itself on serving the first-time buyers market, and currently has 16 live sites in the region, which covers both banks of the Humber. The office, off Saxon Way, will support the build and sale of 500 homes a year under its current strategic trajectory, with recent announcements including 232 houses at Holton-le-Clay, 114 by Hull KR's stadium, 90 in Beverley and 158 in Scunthorpe.

We are very proud to be part of Hull and East Yorkshire's thriving economy and look forward to continuing our work providing affordable, quality homes where they are needed, for the people who need them most."

Gleeson employs around 35 sub-contractors on each site, and is moving the office from Scunthorpe.

It comes as Hessle-based Beal Homes closes in on completion of its impressive new headquarters on Bridgehead Business Park.

The £4.5 million 19,000 sq ft two-storey build has emerged through the pandemic. Inititally due to complete in the spring, it was delayed after principal contractor PDR Construction collapsed.
