Glee's 'Rose's Turn' Debuts At No. 3 On Tiktok Chart

Glee's 'Rose's Turn' debuts at No. 3 on TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart.

During its time on the air, the TV show Glee was not just a massive success when it came to ratings. The series was also huge on the music charts, as the many songs and albums released from the program found significant popularity and made history during their time.

This week, the show returns to the Billboard charts once again. Nothing new has emerged from the cast, but a longtime favorite from the musical series debuts on a new tally, with the group reaching the list for the first time many years after Glee came to an end.

“Rose’s Turn” debuts at No. 3 on this week’s TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart. The tally tracks the most successful songs on TikTok, with Billboard utilizing a methodology that combines several forms of consumption and use of a title to rank each cut. It’s the highest new entrant this frame on the list.

The song is credited to the cast of Glee, as opposed to one individual actor or several performers. That was the case for essentially all tracks that were released from the TV series during its highly successful run.

“Rose's Turn” was featured in the 2010 episode “Laryngitis,” which was part of the inaugural season of Glee. The track was initially released as a standalone tune and also on the album Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers, which came out the same year. The title peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while the track itself peaked at No. 93 on the Hot 100.

The cast of Glee ranks as one of the most successful groups of all time in the United States. For many years, they held the record for the most Hot 100 appearances, and they were collectively the first musical act to pass 200 placements on the tally. Now, they appear on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart for the first time as a new generation of young social media users discover the catchy cut.

Like so many of the songs that were spun off of Glee, 'Rose's Turn' was not original to the show. The track was originally made famous from the musical Gypsy, and it's regarded by many who love Broadway as a fantastic example of what’s known as an “eleven o’clock number,” which is a show-stopping performance in the second act of a show.
