Glastonbury Festival kicks off tomorrow (June 22), with high temperatures and sunshine forecast. However, as the five-day festival carries on into the weekend, the Met Office has warned of thunderstorms ahead.
The weather is set to become unsettled as the week continues, according to forecasters. The guidance is to pack for all weathers - bring sunhats and waterproofs; sun cream and umbrellas.
Whilst the first day of the festival should bring highs of 26C or 27C, there is a risk of thunderstorms and heavy showers come Friday and Saturday. Met Office Deputy Meteorologist, Helen Caughey, has released a statement.

She said this afternoon (June 21): "From Friday onwards the weather will become more unsettled. There is a risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms in the Glastonbury area on both Friday and Saturday, although these should be quick moving, some surface water might accumulate at times.
"Temperatures will start to dip as we go through the end of the week returning to near normal for the time of year, with highs likely around 18-20C." Come Sunday (June 26), the last day of the festival, some showers are expected, which "could be heavy, and possibly thundery".
More than 200,000 people are expected at this year's festival, after it was postponed due to the Covid pandemic. Today, many revellers are already on their way to the festival site.
The headliner for Friday evening is Billie Eilish. Sir Paul McCartney takes to the stage on Saturday evening, and Kendrick Lamar closes the festival on Sunday.
