Glastonbury 'ghost' caught on video as eerie figure 'flies past' friends

A woman caught a mysterious smoky figure billowing into the darkness on camera while at Glastonbury Festival.

Georgia Beech, 25, filmed her friends singing around a campfire at the Glastonbury Stone Circle at around 1am on Monday, June 26, shortly after watching Elton John perform on the Pyramid Stage.

It wasn't until later, when she showed the video to her mum, that she noticed the unexplained phenomenon.

She said: "We thought we'd go to the Stone Circle one last time. There was a fire, music was playing, it was very atmospheric and I took the video because I wanted to capture the atmosphere.

"It wasn't until yesterday (June 27) I watched it back. It was actually my mum who noticed it; she said 'I can't believe the video you've sent me'. I didn't know what she was talking about

"I've never seen a ghost before, but I'm quite open-minded to things, and when I saw it I was very shocked. It looked like a figure flying past and going off into the air. My fiancé said it could have been smoke from the fire, and some people have suggested maybe it was camera glare, but it's not in time with the camera. The figure flies past faster than the camera moves.

"I think it was some kind of orb or spirit going past. I wouldn't say I'm a believer, but I'm not close-minded to it. But if you'd asked me before if I believed in ghosts, I would have said I don't really know."

The Stone Circle, located in King's Meadow on the southern edge of the Glastonbury Festival grounds, consists of 20 large stones representing the stars of the Cygnus constellation. It was built in 1992 by artists Ivan McBeth and Michael Eavis, who used limestone from the nearby Torr Works Quarry.

Over the years, it became a popular spot for Glastonbury Festival guests to gather and watch the sun rise.

Georgia, from Old Roan, said: "The Stone Circle is a very special place; there's something spiritual about it. So many people sat around a campfire singing is something magical in itself."

She said: "I've never been to Glastonbury before; this was my first time, and I was mainly going because I'd heard so many amazing things about it. Some fantastic acts were on like Lana Del Ray, Lizzo and Elton John.

"I thought it was amazing and incredible. I've never been to anything else like it. I was exhausted by the end of it, five days is a lot especially with camping, but the atmosphere there, I've never experienced anything like it."
