Sir Paul McCartney has made a surprise appearance at Glastonbury tonight and fans went wild.
During their set on The Park Stage, The Pretenders and Chrissie Hynde brought out special guests Johnny Marr and Dave Grohl. Rumours for a potential special guests had been growing all day.
The Pretenders closed out their star-studded performance with Sir Paul McCartney taking to the stage to wave to the crowd. As they signed off, frontwoman Chrissie Hynde went into the wings where Sir Paul had been watching and gave him a hug.

After much chanting from the crowd, the Beatles star came on to the stage and waved alongside Hynde. Greeting the crowd after the first song, lead singer Chrissie Hynde said: "Thank you, I feel like I know everyone here – let’s do it."
The group continued to perform Middle Of The Road, with Hynde whipping out the harmonica to finish the song. Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement about the quick glimpse of Sir Paul.
One tweet read: "My weekend is complete, Chrissy Hind, Johnny Marr and Dave Grohl on drums, all overseen by Paul McCartney just off stage- but rocking out."
A second tweet read: "Paul McCartney in (the) wings."
Fans have also been speculating whether Paul McCartney will be one of Elton John's special guests during his final performance tomorrow.
One tweet read: "Paul McCartney spotted backstage at a few performances so far. I presume he’s one of Elton John’s surprise guests tomorrow night #PaulMcCartney#glastonbury2023."
A second fan said: "Elton's obvs gonna draw out some big guns tomorrow, but Chrissie got Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl & Johnny Marr out on her set. Not shabby at all."
