Glastonbury 2027 tickets live: First sale takes place today with headliners still to be announced

Glastonbury fans will be bracing for the usual scramble today, as coach tickets to the 2027 festival go on sale at 6pm.

The festival will return following its traditional fallow year in 2026, taking place between Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 June.

Rumours about who will headline next year’s event at Worthy Farm have been swirling for months, with Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis ruling out both Madonna and Oasis. The 2025 festival was headlined by UK rock band The 1975, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, and pop star Olivia Rodrigo.

Tickets for the weekend will be priced at £408 including a £5 booking fee per ticket – an increase of £29.50 from 2025, when tickets cost £378.50.

As part of the festival’s campaign to stop touts, fans must have registered to get tickets before 5pm on Friday 25 September.

Remember not to panic when Glastonbury tickets go on sale...

14:52 , Roisin O'Connor

It’s not over until the SOLD OUT sign appears on the Glastonbury website. So don’t freak out if you see a message notifying fans that “all available tickets have now been allocated”. That means the orders are being processed, but at least a few people end up running out of time... meaning the tickets are up for grabs again.

A word of caution: your registration numbers will be locked for up to five minutes if your details are entered incorrectly, an attempt to book is already held against your registration number, or your five minutes on the booking page ends. If the transaction fails and tickets are still available, your registration number will be released to give you the chance to try again!

Fatboy Slim has ‘never been paid’ to perform at Glastonbury

14:27 , Roisin O'Connor

Fatboy Slim has played Glastonbury Festival more than 100 times but has “never been paid” to perform, the legendary DJ has shared.

The musician born Norman Cook, 63, is a very familiar face at Worthy Farm, having completed more appearances at Glastonbury than any other artist.

He has also spoken on myriad occasions about his love for the festival and his friendship with the Eavis family, which he now says “hasn’t been tarnished by money”.

Want Glastonbury tickets? Here's how you do it...

12:59 , Lauren Morris

Hardcore Glastonbury lovers know that if you want a strong chance of getting a ticket, you need to be in a syndicate.

For years, ticket hopefuls have teamed up with other groups (you can apply for six tickets at a time) by entering all their registration details into one vast spreadsheet – the idea being that if multiple people from the same group get through to the ticket-buying page, they can purchase tickets for another on the sheet.

While a lot of the time, a syndicate might consist of just a few groups, it can get serious. I’m currently in a rather intense syndicate of 98 people, which has threatened to cull members from the sheet if they’re not active and accounted for on WhatsApp minutes before the sale starts. It’s not life and death, but it is Glastonbury!

Why does Glastonbury have a fallow year?

12:24 , Roisin O'Connor

Glastonbury is held on a working dairy farm, the 900 acres of which is home to the farm’s herds of cows while the festival is not taking place.

Fallow years were most recently held in 2012 and 2018; Glastonbury also had to take two years off during the Covid pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

Speaking to the Glastonbury Free Press in 2024, organiser Emily Eavis said: “We’re taking a fallow year in 2026 to give the land a rest, and the festival before a fallow year is always a fun one to plan because you almost have to fit two years in one.”

In an appearance on Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw’s podcast Sidetracked, she also revealed that 30,000 trees would be planted during the 2026 fallow year.

“It’s the kind of thing you want to do… plant trees, plant hedges,” she said. “Just really restore the wild side of the farm and the surrounding land.”

Later on during the conversation, she confirmed that other admin duties take place during a fallow year, including renewing contracts and carrying out repair works.

“A fallow year is a really good idea,” she said. “You drop off, you have a break and it sort of reminds everyone that it’s a farm and a family. We’re just normal and need a break.

Madonna ruled out of Glastonbury 2027

11:53 , Roisin O'Connor

Along with Oasis, Emily Eavis has also ruled out Madonna headlining Glastonbury next year, despite the queen of pop seemingly dropping a huge hint in her big BBC interview with Graham Norton.

Madonna has never featured at the festival, despite Eavis saying on multiple occasions that she would love the “Material Girl” star to perform.

Asked about the lineup in August, Eavis said organisers had booked the 2027 headliners and that “it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that”.

“But we have got three [other] headliners and we’re very excited about it – it’s all coming together really well,” she added.

Who do I want to headline Glastonbury 2027, I hear no one ask?

10:23 , Roisin O'Connor

Fontaines DC! Come on, they’d smash it out the park.

The Irish rock band keep going from strength to strength, having recently announced their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, for release on 16 October as well as a massive run of shows that will include two nights at Slane Castle in Dublin and shows at Heaton Park in Manchester and London Stadium.

The first date will take place at Slane Castle on 26 June, the day after Glastonbury 2027 concludes, leading fans to speculate that the band will make their debut as headliners on the Pyramid Stage at some point during the festival weekend.

Many (including myself) would argue the spot would be long overdue, as the band have long-since proven themselves as one of the most thrilling live rock acts around.

They have also received critical acclaim for previous albums including 2024’s Romance, which achieved the number two spot in the UK charts behind Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, and received two Grammy nominations: for Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Music Performance (for “Starburster”).

Romance was also shortlisted for the 2025 Mercury Prize, which went to Sam Fender for People Watching,

Oasis fans dealt disappointing update from Emily Eavis

09:03 , Roisin O'Connor

Earlier this month, Glastonbury organisers issued a disappointing update for fans hoping Oasis would headline in 2027.

Following the huge success of their reunion tour last year, many fans have been hoping the Manchester band would be heading for Worthy Farm next June – but Emily Eavis has sadly ruled this out.

Eavis, who now heads up organising the festival founded by her father Michael, was asked by a fan on Instagram: “Please say you've got Oasis.”

Here’s how she responded:

Glastonbury 2027: First wave of tickets to go on sale today

07:57 , Roisin O'Connor

Let the Hunger Games begin! That’s right, coach tickets for Glastonbury are going on sale today at 6pm, so good luck to anyone hoping to get their hands on them for the 2027 festival.

We still don’t know who’s headlining but, anyone who’s been to Glastonbury will tell you... it’s not about the headliners!

Glastonbury tickets will only be available from this link and can be purchased with a UK debit card or Visa or Mastercard credit cards.

International tickets can only be bought using a Visa Credit Card or Mastercard Credit Card. Depending on your device settings, you might be offered other payment methods such as Google Pay and Apple Pay, just make sure you’re set up with the relevant service before the resale begins. American Express is not accepted.

In order to secure tickets, you’ll need to put down a £100 deposit for every member of your group – so if there are six of you, make sure £600 is avaliable in someone’s bank account. And for the coach sale, you’ll also have to pay up front for your travel too.

Good luck, and keep following this blog for the latest updates as the big moment looms...
