Glastonbury 2023 tickets: how to get them and when they go on sale

Music fans across the globe were wowed by some of the biggest names in the industry as Glastonbury Festival returned over the weekend.

More than 200,000 people attended the Somerset festival, which was headlined by Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar.

Fans who were unlucky in grabbing tickets for this year’s festival were able to catch up on the acts in the BBC’s coverage over the weekend.

And it’s safe to say that many of the people watching from home will be hoping to bag tickets for next year’s festival.

Here is everything you need to know about next year’s Glastonbury and how you can pick up tickets for the 2023 festival.

Will Glastonbury go ahead next year?

Organiser Michael Eavis has already booked headliners for the next two years, according to reports (REUTERS)

Glastonbury organisers usually take a year off from the site every five years - which is known as the ‘fallow year’.

With the last one coming in 2018, some may have suspected that the next fallow year would come in 2023.

However, with two cancellations in 2020 and 2021, it’s likely that this will not come until 2027.

Somerset Live reports that organiser Michael Eavis has revealed that the headliners have already been booked for the next two years - but he remained tight-lipped on the names.

How you can register for tickets?

In order to be in with a shout for the tickets, you must register your details alongside a photo with Glastonbury through its partner website See Tickets.

Organisers have opted for as a way to prevent ticket touts from cashing in on people looking for tickets at high prices.

The registration window is open now up until the tickets go on sale.

When do the tickets go on sale?

The tickets normally go on sale around early October - but it is worth following Glastonbury on Twitter to keep an eye out on the sale date.

A resale also takes place months later, giving fans a second chance to scoop up some tickets - this took place in March this year for the 2022 festival.
