The owners of Glasgow's "rudest coffee shop and bakery" are set to close their Shawlands cafe.

Rude Cookies will close its Minard Road location, it has been announced, and move the cafe to its bakery at Morris Park.

In the caption of a video shared on Instagram announcing the news, owners Aga Taylor and Magda Lo Bianco said the decision was "a little heartbreaking", but they believe it is "the right thing to do for our business".

Speaking in the video, Magda said: "After a lot of careful consideration, we've decided to move our cafe back to our bakery in Morris Park, where everything started five years ago.

"Shockingly, a huge number of you guys still don't know that we've been running two separate locations for the last three years.

"Our bakery in Morris Park is where we are every single day, making your cakes and cookies before delivering them to our cafe in Shawlands."

She continued: "Like many businesses running two separate locations has become increasingly difficult in the current economy.

"Bringing everything back together under roof just makes the most sense to us as a business."

The Morris Park bakery will still be selling the businesses cookies, cakes, and matchas.

Magda said no staff will be losing their jobs as a result of the move.

She said: "Our team have been incredibly supportive through all of this.

"We are so lucky and grateful to work with such amazing people and we love them so much."

An exact moving date has not been confirmed yet.

Magda added: "So if you haven't visited the rudest cafe yet and the rudest toilet, which is the only element that's not staying, consider this your final warning."

Launched in 2021, Rude Cookies has gone viral on TikTok and Instagram for its portraits of pop culture icons and cheeky illustrations painted onto cookies.

They opened at Morris Park in 2022 before opening their Minard Road location in September 2023.
