Glasgow train services disrupted amid emergency incident

GLASGOW train services have been disrupted amid an emergency incident this morning.

ScotRail has said due to a passenger taking unwell on a service at High Street station in the city some lines are closed.

Due to this, trains in the area are subject to delays, revision, or cancellation.

Meanwhile, National Rail has revealed disruption can be expected between Glasgow Queen Street and Bellgrove station until 9am.

Passengers are being urged to check their journeys before travelling due to the ongoing incident.

The condition of the passenger is currently unknown.

A spokesperson for ScotRail said: "Due to a passenger being taken ill on a train at High Street some lines are closed. Services are subject to delay, revision or cancellation. Please check your journey on our app or on JourneyCheck for live updates."

A National Rail spokesperson added: "A passenger being taken ill on a train at High Street is causing disruption to journeys between Glasgow Queen Street and Bellgrove.

"As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes or revised.

"Please seek alternative travel routes below:

  • Glasgow to Edinburgh via Falkirk High/Shotts
  • Glasgow Queen Street to Falkirk Grahamston.

"If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket."

The Scottish Ambulance Service and the British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
