The owners of a Glasgow toastie 'hoose' will welcome in customers to their first ever cafe for the final time this week.
Babos cafe has been a huge hit since opening in Shawlands in October 2020, becoming a bit of a lifeline for hungry southsiders during lockdown. And having developed a loyal following, fans were gutted to find out recently the Pollokshaws Road sandwich spot will be closing its doors.

However, it's not all bad news as the business will continue, with owners pitching their offering to cater for food festivals, weddings, birthdays and events across Glasgow and Scotland. The final day of service from the popular Pollokshaws Road sandwich spot will be tomorrow (Thursday, June 30).
Babos bosses made the announcement on social media.
A representative said: "We are going to close where it all began for us - our wee Shawlands shop as of June 30. Over the past 12 months our business model has changed somewhat into the events and catering space.
"With the rising costs attached to running a premises I've taken the decision that our future lies in providing our food via Glasgow and Scotland's food festivals, weddings, birthdays, events and the like, our summer diary is looking quite full and now's the time to make the jump. We will continue to operate from our new commercial kitchen space afterwards if you REALLY want a big delivery.
"Cheers Shawlands it's been some ride."
To celebrate the end of the era, the toastie menu will include classics and signature toasties Southsiders have been scranning into at lunchtimes over the past couple of years.
