Glasgow to host Vegan Events UK market at Hampden Park next month

Glasgow's food scene is pretty good – if we do say so ourselves.

And although we may be a little biased when it comes to our home city, it's safe to say other's think it too - so much so they think it's a perfect place to set up a huge food market at Scotland's national football stadium.

Next month, the Glasgow Vegan Market is to set up shop at Hampden Park on March 12 and will feature over 100 stalls selling a range of items from food and drinks to cosmetics and skin care.

The event is not just for vegans as they encourage everyone from vegetarians, those who are gluten and dairy-free and anyone looking to start their vegan journey to pop along.

The event will take place on a Saturday between 10:30am and 4:30pm and several local Glasgow-based stallholders - as well as many more from the rest of Scotland - are expected to attend.

There will be at least three Glasgow-based food and drink stalls which will include Mama’s Wee Bakery, Mayze and Sweet Wednesday.

Glasgow's Ellis Scottish Gin will also be there offering their range of locally handcrafted, small batch gins.

Also attending is Glasgow-based Salon Zero – a cruelty free, vegan and sustainable hair salon and clothing stall Humane Human.

Others set to show off their business are Hamilton-based Hope CBD who will be offering organic, lab tested, cannabidiol (CBD) products whilst Aberdeen’s Veelow Sustainable Store will be offering their range of health and wellbeing, clothing and household items.

Vegan Events UK, who will host the market, was founded in 2017 with a joint aim of helping fund the vegan-led animal welfare charity, Miracle's Mission, who are trying to set up a dedicated Disabled Animal Rehabilitation Centre.

The charity works with sick, injured and disabled animals worldwide and helps to provide a place of safety or a new home for them. It also educates others on the needs of neutering both pets and strays to prevent the birth of more onto the streets.

The family-friendly day is set to be filled with "an incredible range of world class vegan food…local and international cuisine, sweet and savoury."

But most importantly, it's a day to "support small vegan businesses, who strive hard to provide products of the highest quality."
