Glasgow to Edinburgh line to be closed all weekend after train derails sparking rail chaos

A Glasgow to Edinburgh railway line is to be closed all weekend after a train derailed from its tracks overnight.

ScotRail alerted its customers to the issue this morning, advising that various routes will be affected.

The provider has described the problem as an "operational incident", which occurred between Coatbridge Sunnyside and Airdrie, North Lanarkshire.
