Glasgow teenager hit by car as police probe horror crash in Southside

A Glasgow teenager has been hospitalised after being hit by a car in the Southside.

Police are probing the crash which took place in Clarkston Road, Cathcart at around 4.30pm on Friday. The 17-year-old man, a pedestrian, was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Officers refused to disclose the nature of the teen's injuries or his current medical condition. No other injuries have been reported at this stage.

An investigation has been launched into the smash. Anyone with information that could help with the police probe is urged to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Glasgow Live: “Officers were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Clarkston Road in Glasgow at around 4.30pm on Friday, July 1. Emergency services attended and a 17-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting incident number 2569 of July 1."

Glasgow Live contacted the Scottish Ambulance Service for comment.
