You may have heard that schools in Glasgow are set to shut for a few days as a result of strikes from cleaning staff.
It was confirmed yesterday (March 23) that the closures would go ahead due to the council workers, who are members of GMB Scotland and Unison unions, striking over equal pay which has resulted in 141 primary schools being forced to shut affecting over 40,000 pupils.
A letter was from the executive director of education, Douglas Hutchison, informed parents of the ongoing situation announcing they were "left with no option" but to close due to health and safety reasons.
