Glasgow's second CUPP Bubble Tea store set to open on Sauchiehall Street

One of the UK's top bubble tea brands is set to open its second store in Glasgow this week – and will be celebrating by offering freebies for the first 100 customers.

Following their opening last month on Byres Road, CUPP is set to open their doors to bubble tea fans in Glasgow City Centre on Friday, February 24, at 2pm at the new site on Sauchiehall Street.

Based at the unit next to Taco Bell, customers can enjoy their CUPPs either as takeaway or sit-in with their quirky box-style seating and arcade games.

And to celebrate the new opening, the first 100 customers will receive a FREE bubble tea and if that wasn’t enough, CUPP will continue the day with a staggering 50% discount on their drinks.

Bringing their popular bubble tea range to Glasgow, CUPP opened their first store at 184 Byres Road earlier this month after a slight delay over the festive period.

CUPP also sell a range of merchandise (CUPP)

Described as “the drink you can chew” it has gained massive popularity in recent years in the UK and around the world after originating in Taiwan.

CUPP’s Head of Franchising, Mikayla Whittle said: “We are excited to open the second of many CUPP stores in Scotland, with another fantastic location on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow’s City Centre. We have a further 10 stores in the pipeline in cities including Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness and Edinburgh.

"We are delighted to see the fantastic turnout at each and every launch. We are looking forward to the roll-out into every major city across the country.

Founder Lee Peacock stated that they offer a wide range of iced and hot milk-based drinks, in addition to their fantastic range of fruit teas using real fruit purees, house-made syrups, organic milk and loose-leaf tea, as well as great dairy alternatives.

In addition to CUPP’s fantastic drinks, Bubble tea fans can also buy fun merchandise including reusable CUPPs (including your first drink free) and their adorable boba plushies.

He added: “We are delighted to be opening our second store in Scotland in the City Centre of Glasgow. We have seen an incredible response to the opening of our new stores across England and Wales, with customers queuing around the block for a taste of our bubble teas. Following the opening of Byres Road, we have no doubt it will continue to be the same for our Northern neighbours.

"We have been delivering premium quality bubble teas to 25 cities to date and have many more to come across Scotland and the UK."

As well as the city centre and Byres Road, CUPP has also announced plans for a third outlet in Glasgow’s Southside on Victoria Road.
