Glasgow's PlantMama opens new southside shop after lockdown success

One of Glasgow's most successful indoor plant specialists has just opened a second store in the southside, inviting local green-fingered fans to pop in and say hi.

Glasgow's own PlantMama, Emma Kelsey, is an expert and blogger who grew her passion during lockdown before realising her dream of opening her first-ever store on Bell Street in the Merchant City.

She's now expanded to the south of the river with a brand new opening on Pollokshaws Road, which she renovated and launched at the end of last month.

Now fully opened, she's inviting local residents to come in and have a look at her spectacular selection of indoor plants, soils, pots, books and other accessories to help build their own "indoor jungle".

Posting on Facebook, she wrote: "If you stay locally to the Southside, stick your head in to say hello! We’d love to meet more of our neighbours."

The Youtuber also offers workshops and care tips for those needing help making their homes a little greener.

Speaking about the launch, Emma added: "It blows our minds that all of this started less than 3 years ago as a one off afternoon pop-up in our garage, but what an incredible journey it’s been.

"You guys have followed us all over Glasgow, stuck with us through closing down while we renovated the first shop, and forgave us when we had to close suddenly during the birth of our daughter. Our dream business, family, and jobs are possible because of you and we couldn’t be more grateful.

"We’ll be open Thursday to Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 11-4, at 617 Pollokshaws Rd. The shop is situated next to our lovely new neighbour Bawn and across the road from the Southside’s hub for independent businesses The Cooperage.

"Don’t worry though, we’ll still be open for business as usual in Merchant City, and we still have plans to open up our private design studio for shopping in December."
