Glasgow's much-loved Hidden Lane Tearoom up for sale in Finnieston

A tearoom in Glasgow’s Hidden Lane is up for sale after only five months of having a new business owner.

The Hidden Lane - which dates back more than 100 years - is located just off Argyle Street. The lane's popular Tearoom is now up for grabs, giving a businessperson the rare opportunity to run a coffee house in one of Glasgow’s most unique locations.

The west end’s Hidden Lane, located in Finnieston, is home to a mix of local and independent artists with the tearoom established in the area for 12 years.

The street is home to other companies including a brewery, record label/store, sweetie shop, pottery store and many more.

The Tearoom is placed at the rear of the Hidden Lane with 60 covers in total spread over the ground floor, first floor and pavement seating outside.

Daytime hours are only available for the business but it has the potential to increase its hours alongside obtaining an alcohol license.

Leasehold of the property is presented at £45,000 with rent at £23,400. The turnover and net profit is available to request and the business can be viewed on Rightbiz here.

The advertisement reads: “The Hidden Lane Tearoom was established approximately 12 years ago and is therefore well established and something of a local institution. Nestled within the Hidden Lane, the business benefits from the many customers who visit the various neighbouring businesses and the tearoom has become a real hub to this creative community.”

“The Hidden Lane is home to a fantastic and eclectic mix of local, independent and predominantly artistic businesses including a brewery, record store, gift shop, pottery shop, art gallery, yoga studio etc to name a few, and the lane benefits from good levels of footfall as a result.

“In recent years, Finnieston has become arguably the most desirable eating and drinking circuit in Glasgow with many new stylish bar and restaurant openings, as well as a number of retail operators, ensuring the area is a hive of activity throughout the day and evening.”
