Glasgow for years struggled to get any kind of recognition from the influential Michelin Guide but thankfully, over the past few years, some of our top restaurants have gained traction.
One of the most revered awards in the culinary scene, a Michelin Star is awarded to only the top fine-dining restaurants from each city and we now have not one, but two restaurants that have gained one.
Though we haven't gained any in the new 2023 Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland, which was unveiled this week, we still have six restaurants retaining their status; two with stars and four with Bib Gourmands.

Michelin restaurants aren't just known for their delicious and luxurious food, but also for their relatively high prices. We looked into how much a typical meal will set you back at each of Glasgow's Michelin-starred and Bib Gourmand restaurants.
While it is hard to compare prices directly as each restaurant offers different types of menus with varying courses, prices range from £55 to £195 overall.
Starting with the two Michelin-star restaurants, here is what you can expect to pay if you head to one of these acclaimed eateries.
Glasgow's two Michelin-Starred Restaurants
Cail Bruich, Glasgow
Cail Bruich is a luxurious and stylish restaurant situated on Great Western Road in Glasgow. Head chef Lorna McNee is "the only current female chef in Scotland holding a Michelin star", a feat that she achieved in around only five months.
Like many of the restaurants here, Cail Bruich only serves up a single menu: its surprise tasting menu. Priced at £140 per person, it features the "finest seasonal produce and local ingredients handled with care and originality".
More information can be found on the Cail Bruich website.
UNALOME by Graeme Cheevers
UNALOME by Graeme Cheevers on Kelvingrove Street serves up a contemporary fine dining experience in the buzzy Finnieston district of the city.
The restaurant offers a tasting menu, a vegetarian tasting menu, and an à la carte menu at dinner, priced at £110, £110, and £90 respectively. Dishes available include Veal Sweetbread and Black Truffle Mousse, Loin of North Sea Cod and Black Truffle, and Roasted Baby Parsnips and Black Truffle.
More information can be found on the UNALOME by Graeme Cheevers website.
Glasgow's four Bib Gourmand Restaurants
Celentano's
This intimate restaurant already features in the Michelin Guide with a Bib Gourmand and we imagine it wouldn't be a great stretch for it to push on and compete for a star. Found at the historic Cathedral House Hotel, it mixes the very best in Scottish produce with Italian culinary flair.
Celentano's offers a regular menu with mains ranging from £17-25 and a feasting menu for £48 per person available for all tables Wednesday & Thursday evenings, and Friday & Saturday all day.
More information can be found on Celentano's website.
Ka Pao
Found in the basement of a former garage from the 1900s, this exciting restaurant just off Byres Road was praised by the guide for its "vibrant, colourful sharing dishes from South East Asia".
As well as a regular menu featuring small dishes ranging from £6 to £14.50, while the KA PAO sharing menu (for 4 or more diners), is priced per person 27.75
More information can be found on the Ka Pao website.
Monadh Kitchen
Found in the popular suburb of Bearsden, Monadh Kitchen is described as a "delightful neighbourhood restaurant", with the inspectors loving its "appealing, seasonally evolving menus" and "classic Scottish cooking given a contemporary twist".
This popular restaurant has menus with mains ranging from £18 to £36.
More information can be found on the Monadh Kitchen website.
Ox and Finch
Already a veteran of the Bib Gourmand (nine years in a row no less), Ox & Finch is one of the first names on people's tongues when anyone asks where the best restaurants in town are. With its vibrant Mediterranean small with modern twists, there are plenty of reasons for this famous restaurant to be awarded at the highest level.
The restaurant on Sauchiehall Street has a lively menu filled with small dishes ranging from £3.95 to £13.50.
More information can be found on the Ox and Finch website.
