Glasgow's Kelvin Way penguin family reunited after being cruelly 'snatched from home'

Glaswegians are breathing a sigh of relief after the penguin family who were staying in the Kelvin Walkway wall have been reunited.

Many were shocked when they found out the loveable birds were taken from the west end path earlier this week.

The flipper figures had delighted many passers-by who were lucky enough to spot them over the last month.

The Twitter account behind the penguins, @GlasgowPenguins, wrote: "Thank you to everyone for your kind words and thoughts over the last few days.

"We are back together as a family in our wall. Dad says if this happens again, we will need to find a new, safer home, but we really hope we can stay somewhere in Glasgow."

Fans of the penguins were delighted to see the flightless birds reunited at the wall.

One tweeted: "Glad you are all home safe and well."

Another agreed: "Good news, I recently learned of the Glasgow penguins nice to see they have all returned safely and can continue to brighten Twitter up."

Many others now hope the message is now clear and people realise the figures are there for everyone to enjoy.

A Twitter user wrote: "It's a shame, but it might also be a selfish misunderstanding - lots of places things like this and paste ups etc. are intended to be taken. Maybe someone got greedy? Look forward to seeing more penguins soon and hopefully the message gets out to leave them for everyone to meet."

Families from Glasgow will now be able to flock to the Kelvin Way Walkway this Easter to celebrate the return of one of the city's newest residents.
