The Met Office has extended the yellow weather warning for snow and ice which currently covers much of the UK - including Glasgow.
Parts of the city and the surrounding areas have seen blanket of snow develop overnight with a layer of the white stuff covering East Kilbride, Thornliebank and areas across the south side. Snow is still falling however in some areas with temperatures plummeting leaving a chill in the air.
The snow should not last long with rain developing later today (March 14) and washing most of the snow away. But while rain may be looming, the weather warning also looms with it having been extended by an hour.

Having been updated this morning, forecasters now say the warning will remain in force until 11am today with it already having come into force at 5am.
They say that during these hours, rain will turn to snow bringing the chance of some disruption to transport and infrastructure. This means that icy surfaces are likely to develop later with people heading out - by foot or vehicle - being warned to take care.
