A man has died suddenly after taking unwell at Glasgow Queen Street train station.
Staff at the station as well as an off-duty paramedic and nurse tried to resuscitate the man after he collapsed at the ticket office on Monday evening.
Sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene after the arrival of ambulance crews.
The family have now thanked station staff for their efforts to save him having been told that five members of staff and two managers performed CPR on him following his collapse.
They said that they have taken "a great deal of comfort" from the fact that their loved one, George, "didn't suffer and wasn't alone at the end".
A post on Facebook community group No1Seems2care read: "We want to thank Maggie Hoey who is the manager of the ticket office in Queen Street. She has informed us that five members of staff and two managers performed CPR on my brother.
"She has assured us that George didn't suffer and wasn't alone at the end. This has given my parents a great deal of comfort."
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Glasgow Queen Street station at 10.34pm on Monday, May 2 following reports of a medical emergency.
"Paramedics also attended and sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
