Glasgow City Council have put forward a proposal for bars and pubs in the city centre to stay open until 1am.
The new licensing shake up would see Glasgow brought into line with the rest of Scotland's big cities, with most councils allowing licensed premises to serve until 1am at least on Friday and Saturday nights.
The new rules would not affect nightclubs, which are allowed to open until 4am, and would only apply to city centre bars and pubs, reports the Scottish Daily Express.
