A road traffic collision has sparked the closure of the M8 in one direction near Glasgow Airport.
The Westbound carriageway has been closed by police due to an accident earlier this evening between Junction 28 (Glasgow Airport) and Junction 29 (St James / Paisley).
Officers are in attendance at the scene and are managing the traffic through the St. James Interchange.

Traffic Scotland issued an update to drivers just after 9pm this evening which read: "J28A-29 The Westbound carriageway is now CLOSED due to an earlier collision. Police are in attendance and are managing the traffic through the St. James Interchange."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.25pm on Wednesday, 17 August, 2022, officers were called to reports of a single car crash on the M8 near junction 28a.
"There were no reports of injuries but the road was closed for around an hour to allow the car to be recovered.
"A 25-year-old man will be reported in connection with road traffic offences."
UPDATE: The westbound carriageway is now cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
