Concerned drivers in Glasgow alerted police after seeing a delivery cyclist on the M8 motorway last night.
Police were alerted to reports of the cyclist on the Kingston Bridge around 8.05pm.
Officers then attended the scene "to assist".
One person took to Twitter to express their shock at spotting the cyclist on the motorway.

They tweeted: "Deliveroo cyclist on the M8 coming out of Glasgow tonight, nutter! Them chicken nuggets ain’t worth dying for!"
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police received a report of a cyclist on the Kingston Bridge around 8.05pm on Monday, 20 June and officers attended to assist."
It is illegal for a cyclist to be on the motorway, and under Highway Code rule 253, a bicycle is listed as a prohibited vehicle.
The incident comes weeks after a Deliveroo cyclist was spotted pedalling through the Clyde Tunnel. Footage taken by a car passenger showed the rider in the left hand lane pedalling through the tunnel alongside a vehicle.
It follows a similar incident last year which saw a cyclist spotted pedalling in the outside lane of the M8 near Glasgow city centre.
