A SCOTTISH pizzeria has been named in the top 100 trending dishes worldwide.
This year's Deliveroo 100 Report listed Franks' pepperoni pizza as 16th in the world for dishes ordered through the delivery app, and fifth overall in the UK.
The annual list highlights the most ordered dishes and groceries via the takeaway providers app.
Topping the list at number one is the Can’t Get Knafeh of It desert from Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai. Second place went to Wingstop's eight-piece boneless wings.
The list also found that Glasgow ordered more bags of Tetley tea than any other city in the UK, followed by Fife and Perthshire.
Deliveroo also found that Aberdeen is the third biggest market for Galaxy chocolate in the UK.
Co-owner Craig, told GlasgowLive that the outcome means that Franks is the number one best-selling pizza on earth, according to the takeaway app.
"We just can't believe we are number five in the UK for top-selling dishes, and then over and above that 16th in the world.
"Technically that means we are the number one selling pizza on earth on Deliveroo. We can't believe it. We are just a small independent business, and we are blown away by the whole thing, to be honest."
The pizzeria opened a new restaurant in Glasgow earlier this year following the success of their Finnieston venue. Owners plan to open a Frank’s Pizza on Duke Street, Dennistoun by early December.
Deliveroo found that this year’s top dishes highlights an increase in the "TikTok to table" effect, wherein dishes and ingredients go viral on social media and garner an increase in orders as a result.
