Glasgow party-goers 'gutted' after Slug and Lettuce announce shock closure

A popular bar located at the heart of Glasgow city centre announced its shock closure over the weekend, leaving revellers 'gutted'.

The Slug and Lettuce has closed its doors to thirsty party-goers and issued a statement on social media saying "all good things must come to an end".

The St Vincent Street venue, which is part of a pub chain operating all across the UK, officially said goodbye on Saturday, and the news has sent shockwaves amongst regulars who'll no doubt miss the bar.

In an Instagram post published on Saturday, the team wrote: "It’s nearly time to say a goodbye from us...

"Today is our last day of partying and we want to thank you for all of the fabulous memories we have made together. We have loved dancing with you, hosting your celebrations and welcoming you for a catch-up but all good things must come to an end.

"Now, let’s cheers to our last day and we hope to see you."

Seconds after releasing the news, the post was flooded with comments from customers who are sad to see the business go.

One wrote: "No way, I’m gutted."

Another customer added: "Can’t believe this, one of my favourite places for cocktails in Glasgow. Great atmosphere and service, gonna be a huge miss."

A third said: "Was a pleasure providing yous with the Friday night tunes. All the best to everyone."
