A woman was left with a serious facial injury after being assaulted by a young girl who accused her of stealing cups belonging to her after a Paolo Nutini gig.
The victim was in the main arena at the OVO Hydro on Friday after the show wrapped up when the incident unfolded. The 53-year-old had been collecting stack cups to make use of the venue's recycling scheme which allows gig-goers to earn £1 if they return the plastic cups to the bar.
While picking up leftover cups, she was approached by a girl believed to be around 20-years-old and accused of taking cups from the floor that belonged to her.

The woman's husband told Glasgow Live: "My wife was approached by her assailant who accused her of taking her cups which were hers, despite them being on the floor.
"My wife told her not to be silly and carried on picking cups up with her friend. The girl then grabbed cups from my wife’s hand from behind. Being surprised and shocked by this my wife turned round to face the girl and was head-butted, causing her to instantly fall to the ground.
"She was tended to by her friend and a lot of people came over to ask if she was okay and stated they had seen what happened."
The victim received medical attention from the staff at the venue before returning home and reporting the incident to police.
The couple attended a minor injuries unit the following day where they were told that the cheekbone could possibly be fractured.
He added: "My wife is 53 and was shocked to be attacked by a girl who is of a similar age to her daughter in such a violent manner. Passersby also stated that they were very shocked by the level of violence."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of an assault at the Hydro Glasgow, around 10.45pm on Friday, December, 16.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
