A Glasgow local has cashed in on their loose change after managing to sell a rare 50p coin on eBay for an eye-watering sum of £10,000.
The coin, which is a Brexit 50p that was struck to mark the planned exit of the UK from the EU, was sold on February 6 by one very lucky Glaswegian.
Described as being a 'very rare find' by the seller, the coin was launched on the date of Brexit on January 31, 2020 with "Peace, Prosperity and Friendship With All Nations" written on it.
But you might be in luck to find one, as there are an estimated ten million still in circulation, according to Change Checker.

The reminder to start checking your change comes after a Glasgow seller managed to get a bid on a 'rare' 50p coin featuring Paddington Bear. This is said to be the 14th rarest 50p coin, with the one listed featuring the famous bear standing outside Buckingham Palace and waving a Union Jack flag.
The 'Queen Elizabeth II 50p: UK Withdrawal from European Union' coin was issued in 2020. Change Checker explained: " On the 31st January 2020 the United Kingdom left the European Union – over three and half years after the Vote.
"This departure is possibly one of the most historically significant events to happen in modern history and to commemorate this day, The Royal Mint issued this Withdrawal from the European Union 50p. It is the only official United Kingdom coin to commemorate the occasion.
"The reverse design features messaging ‘Peace, Prosperity and Friendship with all nations’ alongside the official withdrawal date, 31 January 2020."
