Glasgow fugitive wanted by Spanish police as fresh appeal launched

Spanish police have issued a new appeal for information as they hunt Glaswegian fugitive Derek McGraw Ferguson who is wanted for murder.

The 58-year-old, who was recently named number one on Spain's Most Wanted list, is wanted in connection with the murder of Thomas Cameron, which took place fifteen years ago. The dad-of-three was fatally shot in the Auchinairn Tavern car park in Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, where he worked on June 28, 2007, reports the Daily Record.

An international warrant is in place for Ferguson's arrest. Spanish police believe he may be in the country and issued a re-appeal for information that could lead detectives to his whereabouts.

The Policía Nacional appeal said: "Wanted!! Derek Mcgraw Ferguson (United Kingdom, 58 years old). Wanted for #Murder. He is dangerous and could be found armed.

"If you have information contact losmasbuscados@policia.es or call 091."

Police Scotland made a fresh appeal this summer in a bid to hunt Ferguson down and Crimestoppers offered a £10,000 reward to anyone with vital information which could lead to an arrest.

Officers leading the investigation understand the fugitive may be in Spain - and they believe he is unlikely to be known by his original name or speak with a Scottish accent.

Ferguson is described as being around 5ft 2 in height, has green/blue eyes and short balding brown/grey hair.

A dedicated website giving members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the Police Scotland 's Inquiry Team has been set–up.

Those wishing to submit information can select to remain anonymous. The website can be found here.
