A dangerous Glasgow driver who caused a five-car smash then got a taxi from the pile-up to his sister's house for a nap has been jailed for 18 months and banned from driving.
Donald Gunn, who drove down the M74 southbound carriageway in Lanarkshire at 100 miles per hour, left his BMW at the scene of the wreckage and wandered off to Bothwell services, hailed a taxi to his sister's home, and then fell asleep.
Gunn, 36, of Glasgow, admitted driving dangerously on the M74 in Lanarkshire on December 13, 2020. After Gunn left the scene, firefighters worked hard to free casualties and one woman suffered a broken ankle and serious injuries to her mouth when the car she was in collided with two other vehicles, leaving her trapped inside, the Daily Record reports.
