Restaurant chain German Doner Kebab has tabled plans to open a new restaurant in the city.
Planning documents submitted to Glasgow City Council's Planning Department show they plan to open a new restaurant at Glasgow Quay on the site of the former Frankie & Benny’s restaurant, which closed back in June last year.
The chain's owners previously told Glasgow Live how they are "revolutionising the kebab in the UK, bringing a fresh, high-quality taste sensation that has made it the number one spot to enjoy a kebab".

They are doing so via their "game-changing" kebabs, which are "made using premium, lean, succulent meats and fresh local vegetables, served in handmade toasted breads with unique signature sauces".
It comes amid a programme of expansion for the Glasgow-based company that is set to see the brand grow to 170 restaurants across the UK this year, creating almost 3,000 jobs.
If the plans are approved, it will become German Doner Kebab's third spot in Glasgow, following their arrival in the west end in September last year at the junction of Byres Road and Dumbarton Road. They also operate a spot on Renfield Street.
