A MAN has been arrested after a bus passenger was spotted with what was believed to be a firearm in the Glasgow City Centre.
Firearm police arrived at Buchanan Bus Station around 1.25pm on Saturday September 14 following reports that a man had a weapon.
A 50-year-old man was arrested and enquiries are ongoing into the incident, with the bus and the bus station evacuated as a precaution.
It is understood the firearm was actually a toy gun.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.25pm on Saturday, September 14 2024, police, including firearms officers, attended Buchanan Bus Station, Killermont Street, Glasgow, following reports of a male passenger on a bus with what was believed to be a firearm.
“There is now no safety risk to the public and the station is now back open.”
