Glasgow building home to popular Masala Twist restaurant up for sale for £750k

A prominent site in the city centre currently home to a popular Indian restaurant is up for sale, offering the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to get into the hospitality industry.

The owner of the Hope Street property, currently occupied by Masala Twist, has put the site up for sale for £750,000.

The three-storey property has been let out to Masala Twist, since 2012 turning over a profit of £64,000 a year. The owner is now looking for an investment sale to anyone looking to get a hold of prime city centre premises.

The recently refurbished restaurant provides seating for 50 customers with a bar and commercial kitchen.

The upper floors have a separate entrance and are accessed via an attractive hand-painted spiral staircase. The first floor provides a separate restaurant area with another 50 covers, bar, a kitchen, and toilets while the second floor provides a function area with capacity for 130 people with a bar.

Masala Twist is part of a larger group that operates five restaurants in Glasgow, East Kilbride, Helensburgh, and Dumbarton. The restaurant will be unaffected by the sale of the premises.

A listing for the property reads: "The subjects benefit from a prime trading position on the west side of Hope Street, lying just off Sauchiehall Street, providing excellent visibility, in the heart of Glasgow City Centre.

"Hope Street is one of the main and most well-travelled thoroughfares within Glasgow City Centre and runs from the top of the city from the Glasgow Piping Centre and Theatre Royal, all the way down to Glasgow Central Station.

"Sauchiehall Street is one of the main shopping precincts and licensed circuits within the city and is home to a variety of national, regional and independent operators, resulting in high levels of footfall within the immediate area."
