A Glasgow-bound Easyjet flight has been forced into making an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Bristol Airport.
Easet flight EZY869U had taken off and was en route to Glasgow Airport when it declared a 'Squawk 7700' emergency about 20 minutes into the flight around 4:45pm this afternoon, the Whitchurch Herald reports.
According to Simple Flying, a ' Squawk 7700' will be entered by a pilot in an emergency situation - either instructed by ATC after declaring an emergency or without communication.
This will clearly inform all tracking ground controllers that the aircraft has an emergency and should be given appropriate assistance.

A flight route shown on global flight tracking service Flightradar24 plane shows that the plane turned around above Newport in Wales before heading back to Bristol Airport, where it landed safely.
Easyjet have been approached for comment.
