A hidden basement bar in Glasgow's city centre is holding a one-time unique event exploring how sound can change the flavours we sense in cocktails.
The hidden artist-inspired bar The Absent Ear is teaming up with visiting artists Unusual Ingredients to host a four-cocktail, sonic-science journey.
Sound + Flavour will have two seatings at 6.30pm and 8.30pm tonight (March 17) of scientifically designed cocktails paired with a guided immersive soundscape which will draw on the latest research into taste perception.

The cocktails are comprised by unusual ingredients made by a three-person team - including two musicians and a food anthropologist.
The mixologists will use exact sonic frequencies and musical movements to enhance the mouthfeel, highlight different flavours, and alter the dominance of each cocktail ingredient.
The Absent Ear was named #26 in the Top 50 Bars in the UK this year.
Sound + Flavour is completely unique and promises to be The Absent Ear’s most ground-breaking taste adventure yet.
Tables are still available at the time of writing for this one-night-only art and science event. Booking is available through their website.
